Adjustment, contact and inspection
Natural flat cotton webbing gives this halter a textile hand feel without the plush or smooth padding used on other versions. The metal crown buckle sets the upper adjustment, the noseband has its own adjustment point and a throat clip allows opening for supervised handling. A lower ring is provided for a separately selected lead, which is not part of this purchase. Pony, Cob and Full formats remain starting labels rather than a measurement of every head. Compare a correctly fitting halter before selecting, paying attention to spare adjustment at both the nose and crown. Once positioned, observe the strap edges and jaw clearance as well as the obvious noseband location; one comfortable-looking area cannot establish fit for the whole headcollar.
Cotton requires an honest drying plan, especially where folded webbing or stitched junctions hold moisture. Brush off loose dirt, clean in accordance with the product instructions and open the halter out to dry before putting it away. Inspect any changes in the strap shape alongside the condition of the hardware and stitching. A buyer who values a woven cotton surface may prefer this construction over polyester, provided its care needs suit the yard routine. Do not assume a natural fibre strap has a predictable release strength, a certified breakaway action or permission for unattended turnout. If the horse already has rubbed areas or the adjustment is at its limit, reconsider the fit and obtain suitable advice rather than attributing the problem solely to the previous material.
